KPV
Explored in anti-inflammatory signaling
An anti-inflammatory peptide used to support gut health, skin calm, and immune balance — derived from a natural anti-inflammatory hormone fragment (α-MSH).

Overview
KPV is a tripeptide fragment (Lys-Pro-Val) corresponding to the C-terminal anti-inflammatory tail of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It is studied in the context of NF-κB signaling, gut inflammation models, and skin inflammation. The clinical evidence base is almost entirely pre-clinical, with no completed human randomized trials in IBD or dermatologic indications.
Evidence: primarily pre-clinical / limited human data
In consultation, clients often ask
The pre-clinical signal in gut and skin inflammation and where human data is missing.
How KPV is sometimes discussed alongside, not instead of, standard care.
Regulatory & sourcing
Not FDA-approved. Currently being evaluated by the FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee for the 503A bulks list (July 23–24, 2026 meeting). Sourcing and applicability are determined with the nurse practitioner.
