Overview
MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrially-encoded peptide that signals to skeletal muscle and other tissues. It is studied in the context of metabolic homeostasis, exercise biology, and longevity research. Endogenous MOTS-c levels respond to exercise in humans, but exogenous therapeutic MOTS-c has not been clinically tested as a wellness intervention.
