A calming nootropic used to support emotional balance, anxiety relief, and restorative sleep — compared in Russian trials to benzodiazepines for generalized anxiety.
Overview
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analog of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin, studied in the context of anxiety modulation and emotional regulation. Like Semax, it is a registered pharmaceutical in Russia. Small Russian trials have compared it to benzodiazepines for generalized anxiety; Western replication is limited.

Not FDA-approved. Currently being evaluated by the FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee for the 503A bulks list (July 23–24, 2026 meeting). Not a substitute for psychiatric care; the nurse practitioner will screen for medication interactions.
